How 90X Goal Planner Will Elevate Your 8!

I first learned about the 90X planner from someone’s Instagram Feed.  I clicked something and started receiving emails.  And when I was offered a FREE planner with the cost of shipping, I gave it a try.  Because, who doesn’t love a good planner, right?

Then I started learning more about the 90X Founder and CEO, ALoN David.  He came to the states with $1800 landed minimum wage jobs until he decided to work for himself.  A lucrative photography business started it all, and then ALoN took what he learned from these experiences to create the 90X Goal Planner.  I’m so glad I reached out to him via Instagram, because that led to today’s conversation on goals, planning, and coaching.

ALoN wants to connect with you guys!  AND – he has given us an exclusive discount on his 90X Goal Planner.  Go to www.90XGoalPlanner.com and use the coupon code Elevate30 for 30% off your purchase.

PLUS – we’re doing a giveaway!  You can enter the giveaway HERE, or give me a rating and review on Apple Podcasts.  Take a screen shot of that review and either tweet it to me @krismaspeak or tag me on Instagram @krismaspeak.

Time Management and the Army

This episode was so much fun for me!  It was a Family Affair in which I talk with my sister, Lt. Colonel Leeanne Mayer Pruitt, about being an officer in the Army.  But you can call her Annie because that's what I do.

Lt. Colonel Pruitt has been in the Army for almost 20 years as a National Guard Medic, a supply officers, a protocol officer, and a communications instructor.  She's done tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  She is married with two amazing kids, my niece and nephew Emily and David.

And let me just say that Time Management and Productivity is very different in the military than it is for us civilians.  It was great to hear more about how my sister manages her time with an officer position, a husband who out-ranks her, and two amazing kids who have learned their own lessons about time management from the military lifestyle.

Some Reminders from Kris:

1.  If you are struggling with Time Management issues, I have a free workbook to help you with this.  Just go to My Time Budget Page to get the download.

2.  Did you know that we have a FREE Facebook Community just for you?  Go to www.silverpeakdevelopment.com/community to join up.

3.  Finally - ALoN David of the 90X Planner is going to be on the show and is giving us planners for a giveaway!  To enter the contest, go to http://silverpeakdevelopment.com/giveaway/ today!

How's your relationship with your supervisor?

Do you actually understand all your payroll deductions?

Are you HAPPY already?

Let's pursue these thoughts - and then YOU guys tell me what YOU think!  Seriously, I want to hear from you!

My first repeat guest - Doug Ferguson from Delaware Valley Community College - has returned to talk about who we THINK will win and who we WANT to win on Sunday, February 24th.

Anyway - enjoy our rant!  Doug thinks ROMA will win Best Picture; I went out on a limb and picked BLACK PANTHER.  Who will be right?

Our music, as always, is provided by BenSound.

Clips from Wayne's World (1991) were foraged from YouTube.

And today's episode was brought to you by FabFitFun.  The Spring Box is almost ready to ship!!

Ten Minute Resets for Your Work Day

Shake It Off:  Ten-Minute Routines to Reset Your Day

Are you having a tough day at the office?

Did your best friend just stand you up for lunch?

Was it a rough weekend and you don’t want to be at work?

We all have these days when nothing seems to go right and everything bugs us.  And when things go wrong, when have two choices:  be a baby about it or shake it off.

Okay, that was harsh.  When I say, “Be a baby about it,” what i really mean is that you buy into the bad things that are happening and put off negative energy.  Law of Attraction people would say that you are lowering your frequency.  And this just makes things worse – or just make things seem worse.  So you can do better.

On this show, I will share TEN 10-minute resets you can bring to your day in order to Shake It Off.  I'm fairly certain that Taylor Swift would approve.  I hope so.

Today's show is sponsored by Audible.  Get a FREE audiobook download and 30 day free trial by clicking HERE. Over 180,000 titles to choose from for your iPhone, Android, Kindle or mp3 player.

BONUS Episode: Talking Philanthropy, Productivity, and DIE HARD with Doug Ferguson on Giving Tuesday

While I've enjoyed all my podcast interviews thus far, I had a complete and total blast today talking with my good friend Doug Ferguson, the Director of Alumni Programs at Delaware County Community College outside of Philly.  Doug and I had been on a conference committee together and have been buds ever since.  We both appreciate "Empire Records" as being one of the most quotable movies ever AND believe strongly that "DIE HARD" is definitely a Christmas movie.

So on today's show, we talk about a ton of fun stuff, including:

1.  Giving Tuesday - which is Tuesday, November 27th.  A day of philanthropy and giving that adds new dimension to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

2.  Being Married with Children and working on your doctorate

3.  How exactly do people "fall in" to working in Higher Education

Doug will most definitely be back because we can talk about so much stuff.  There WILL be a holiday movie bonus episode in the next couple weeks!

Meanwhile, if you haven't already selected an organization for your Giving Tuesday contributions, I'd love for you to check out the SilverPeak Performance Year End Campaign Page.  We are trying to raise enough money to sponsor 4 athletes in 2019.  That would include a year of membership dues, swim meet registrations, and equipment.  We'd love your support!

As always, the music on the show is from BenSound. They have an incredible library of royalty free music.

Networking Naturally with Jeffrey Harrington

I had a super fun conversation with a former staff member of mine from my Residence Life job.  Jeff is a Career Advisor at CSU-Chico and has published some amazing articles on LinkedIn.  You can connect with Jeffrey at https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffreybharrington/ and I highly encourage you to do so - he is a wealth of information and one of the most authentic and engaging young professionals out there.

Jeffrey is a proud husband, father, and public speaking enthusiast who loves meeting strangers. For the last eight years, he has worked at California State University, Chico as a Resident Director, Admissions Counselor, and currently serves as a Career Advisor, helping students learn to love Monday’s as much as they do Friday’s. He started his professional career as an excited middle school teacher and routinely uses his stellar group facilitation skills (and 6’6” size privilege) to inspire people to sporadically dance at work, sing in public, and be the best version of themselves. You can catch Jeffrey living out his life mantra by closing most conversations with, “Don’t be a stranger, but keep being strange”.

This podcast was brought to you by "Elevate Your 8," the book.  You can pick that up HERE.

What IS Elevate Your 8?

There are 24 usable hours in every day, according to Liv Tyler, in EMPIRE RECORDS.

If I had a quarter for every person I ever heard say, "there just aren't enough hours in the day," I'd be a rich girl.  The truth is, we all have the same amount of time every day - 24 hours - but some of us don't use it properly.

If we are doing our work-life balance due diligence and working 8 hours and sleeping 8 hours, then the remaining 8 hours is what we need to manage and prioritize to dominate our day.  This weekly 15 minute podcast aims to do just that.

Join your host, Kris McPeak, and hear from real life people who have tips and tricks on how they Elevate their 8.  You'll be amazed at what people come up with!
